Drones & Drone Detection
Unmanned aerial vehicles
Unmanned aerial vehicles are self-driving flying units have a camera situated underneath them are suited for rapid deployment into areas where it would take the time or extra effort to deploy a human. A drone can also track and follow an intruder in real time, feeding this information back to a control room or portable device so that the response team is fully aware of a situation as they enter it.
Our drone technologies have the ability to be integrated into the two perimeter systems above, and if required, be automatically deployed upon either system triggering. With the pinpoint accuracy given from both the radar and the V-Alert, the drone is able to ‘home’ in on the location of the intruder and detect any further movements. The drone can then remain ‘on station’ until such time as the response team can attend, or in the case of false activation, return to base with now manpower being deployed.
Aerial imagery
High definition image data can be captured in still and/or video format, which can be used for security surveys and checks. Aerial surveys can be used to identify potential breach points and for hostile reconnaissance.
Property and site inspections include capturing high definition and high-resolution imagery that can be used to evaluate the condition of buildings, sites and assets.
Construction – pre-construction site assessment, site progress imagery, utility asset surveys, risk assessment, earthworks surveys and mapping.
Thermal imagery – aerial surveys for the detection of heat loss from buildings and detection of failures in photovoltaic panels and ventilation systems.
Creative media – aerial imagery for special events and applications, public relations and marketing.
Drone detection and defence
Drones can be used as an effective security solution, but they can also cause nuisance and be used to breach security.
Malicious drone use could have a serious impact on a business’s intellectual property and reputation. High spec drones can now bypass traditional security methods to record valuable company data.
GMS Technology, part of the GMS Group, can provide drone detection equipment to help organisations define the threat drones pose and develop effective mitigation plans. We work in partnership with the only active drone defence system currently available in the UK.
